Magazines, Journals, and Newspapers
- You can find magazines in the campus libraries by searching the Journal Search or the Library Catalog.
- Search the Journal Search for additional electronic versions of magazines, journals and newspapers.
Example magazines:
- Cosmetics International
- Cosmetics International Cosmetic Products Report
- Global Cosmetic Industry
Books and E-Books
Search tips:
- Try keywords like: hairdressing, hairstyles, beauty shops, cosmetics industry.
- Don't use the search term "cosmetology" -- it won’t bring up anything.
- Do a subject search for “beauty” and look for related or narrower terms.
- Search broad keywords because you’re not searching the entire content of the ebook yet.
- In the Library Catalog, to find only Ebooks: narrow your search results by clicking on format > electronic.

- Black, P. (2004). The beauty industry: gender, culture, pleasure. Array London: Routledge. Retrieved from NetLibrary.
- Sherrow, V. (2006). Encyclopedia of hair: a cultural history. Westport, Conn.: Greenwood Press. Retrieved from Greenwood Digital Collection.

Second, joining a professional organization means that you receive a publication from them which keeps you up-to-date about the latest news in your professional field. Lastly, it looks good on a resume, especially if you become active in the organization.
