What are you looking for?
To help you with your research in art, the librarians have compiled several questions to ask yourself before you open a search engine or an art book. If you can answer these questions, you have a start on where to begin looking for sources and the information for your paper.
- What time period did your artist work in (Medieval, Contemporary, etc)?
- What type of art did your artist create (Impressionist, Expressionist, etc)?
- What genre is your artist’s work in (paintings, sculpture, photography)?
- Was your artist part of a movement? Is the artist's work characterized by a style?
