What is RefWorks?

RefWorks in an online citation management tool. It will help you manage all your citations for every research project in one convenient location.

New to RefWorks? Here's what you need to do:

  1. Go to RefWorks ...If you're off campus, you'll need the Group Code. Contact your librarian for the Group Code.
  2. Sign up for an individual account.
  3. View the RefWorks tutorials or join a RefWorks webinar.
  4. Create a personal database by automatically importing data from the library's databases or by typing references in manually.
  5. Edit the references you’ve imported so that they have the right data.
  6. Create a paper in your word processor and insert reference ID numbers in the locations you want to cite references.  Save and close the file. 
  7. From RefWorks click on Bibliography and select the paper you just saved and the output style in which you want it created.  Click on Create Bibliography and save the document to disk.

How do I use RefWorks with library databases?

How do I log in if I created an account in Blackboard?

If you've created an account in Blackboard, you can still log in on this page. Your username will be the same as your Blackboard username, but will start with: bb-

Here's an example:
Username: bb-your.name
Your password will be the same as your Blackboard password.
