Narrow your search
Too many search results to look through? Need to narrow?
Try these tips:
- Choose narrower keywords
- Use quotation marks around phrases
- AND
- NOT to exclude a word
- add a another concept
Narrowing and Broadening your keywords
- Broader - Agriculture
- Broad - Vegetables
- Narrow - Corn
- Narrower - Sclerophthora Macrospora
Concepts to add to narrow your search:
- Time
- Place
- Population
- Viewpoint
For example: Say your topic is this: Dust Bowl. However, when you search, you get too many search results. You need to narrow your search.
You don't need to use all of the concepts at once. Here's an example if you were to use all of the above concepts to narrow your search:
- Time = 1930's
- Place = great plains
- Population = farmers
- Viewpoint = economic
Then your topic would be:
The economic impact of the great dust storms of the 1930’s on the farmers of the great plains.
