The Top 10 things you need to know about your library

  1. The library website is your gateway for all library search tools, guides, and help.
  2. The librarians can help with plagiarism and citation questions. APA citation style is the official style of the Globe Education Network schools. Bluebook citation style is the exception and is appropriate for legal classes. MLA citation style may also be used in some instances.
  3. You can suggest a purchase! If we don’t have your favorite database, e-book, or website, let us know. We can consider purchasing it.
  4. Library Instruction is available upon request. It can be tailored to your specific research assignment. Please contact your librarian for more details.
  5. Many research guides are available online, 24/7 for a variety of program areas and topics.
  6. The library offers a Research Project Calculator tool. This tool provides email updates to guide the student through the research process.
  7. How do you and your students access databases? Click on  the databases A-Z link or use any of the 360 Search boxes in the research by topic guides, then login with the same username and password that you use for email. (Use the same login info to open ebooks in the catalog.) Trouble logging in? Contact the Helpdesk.
  8. Find out about the library by subscribing to the Library Lowdown: library news blog! If you’d like to know more about RSS feeds, ask your librarian.
  9. The library can help you meet your professional development needs.
  10. Get to know your librarian. We're here to support you and your students. If you can’t find it, ask your librarian for help! You can ask in-person, by email, phone, or IM.
